HEROS

HEROS (Hockey Education Reaching Out Society) is a mentoring program that sees the game of hockey teaching kids who would otherwise not be able to play the game both hockey skills as well as life skills such as self-esteem. HEROS runs once a week for three hours where volunteers lace up and skate with the kids! HEROS was founded by Norm Flynn in Vancouver in 2000 and is a joint venture in Edmonton with Telus, Big Brothers Big Sisters and Edmonton Public Schools.
